Hello,
My starter didn't turn in the car.
Testing it on a bench it did turn.
I assembled and connected it directly to the battery as on the bench: positive lead to the terminal post, negative lead to the bracket.
But then when I closed the circuit at the battery pole, it again didn't turn, and it seemed there was a short circuit.
I don't think the positive lead was short circuiting, but I might be wrong.
Copilot says this: assembling the starter strains its body a little, and this may cause inner short circuit (in the field coils?).
Can you solve the problem?
Thank you.
