by the way. when fitting these kinds of rubber seals always cut them about an inch too long and force it to fit anyway and always be thorough to tuck them into the corners as they tend to shrink a bit over time. also make the two ends meet in the bottom of the door opening and not in the top.

I seem to have solved the problem by removing the seal and "rotating" it so that the joint is just above the gutter outflow. The squashed area is now where it can do no harm, and the bottom front of the door has an unsquashed area to act on - no leaks so far!
