Did somebody mention modified suspension arms?

The whole suspension system has been designed using 3D CAD and mathematical modelling tools. The aim is to arrive at a system that minimises roll and camber change whilst providing full adjustability and the stiffness required to work with the aerodynamics. Suspension travel will be limited to about 25mm in bump and 20mm in droop at both ends to keep the ground effects from being compromised mid-corner.

Wishbones, engine tie bars and braces all painted and ready for installation. We ended up with rather more bracing than hoped for, as the whole front bulkhead could be seen to be twisting under simulated loads. This also affected the steering rack mountings until we braced it onto the pedal box assembly. The rack is the original MGTF unit without the power steering giving a rack that is about as fast as possible and still be manageable in the pits...you wouldn't want to try this for road use, though!

One of the most difficult bits of the whole build...the exhaust manifold!

We were determined to not run the exhaust under the car to avoid compromising the ground effects. That meant we had to find a route over the gearbox and out through the wide 6R4 wings and cill. K-series engines want very long primaries to produce the best power, so that meant we had to make our own system using lobster-back bends and lots of welding. Despite appearances, this flows well because the important inner surface is quite smooth. It was a labour of love, though! We might get a pipe bender to make a stainless steel one next year.
