Dash upgrade

My basic dash is bland and disappointing. It is fit for purpose but also looks a bit like those dashboards found in Maestros and Marinas. Has anyone on her done anything spectacular with their dash? I'd like an ammeter, oil gauge and tacho but don't want them to look "bolted on".

short of trying to graft another dash from a different car I don't know what you could do to change the look of it

in my mk1 I had the dash professionally painted gloss black and am currently working on fitting oil temp and pressure gauges and an other tach instead of the factory fitted gauges.
in the mk2 I didn't do any thing other than fit a clock instead of a vent blank and fit an usb charger socket opposite the cigarette lighter.
you could fit those dash-wood inserts if you don't already have them.

Possibly the best way to avoid extra gauges looking bolted on is to fit them where the fresh air vents are, if you can live without them.
If you are handy with stitching you could try trimming the instrument binnacle in leather maybe the paint up the plastic instrument cluster that sits within it.
You could get some wood trim to stick on as suggested but if you ain't a big fan try colour coding or hydro dipping them instead.

Won't give all the options, but the rev counter / tacho dash can be found in the GT models and is a popular upgrade.
