Hi. I've just bought a 96 Rover 100, 1.1i from a local classified - It seemed tidy enough and nostalgia got the better of me so I thought 'I'll have that...'
The old chap says it was running a bit erratic and when I checked under the bonnet, the distributer cap was damaged - so easy fix, I thought.
I've changed the distributer cap but the problem persists: idles fine, revs fine (when stationary), but when you go to pull away the revs drop and the car stalls. If I do get it going, it kangaroos along the road. Seems like a fuel problem ? It's been a long time since I was under an old car - any suggestions greatly appreciated.
I'd like to get another Metro back on the road...
Just bought it - but stalls & kangaroos when pulling away...

Yes it does sound like an under fueling problem. I would inspect the fuel filter, pump and pressure regulator.
