I have a K reg. Mpi Gti which when I bought it didnt come with a key fob. It does have a Toad immobiliser fitted and the key in the drivers door does lock and unlock the passenger door.

I have removed the glovebox to look for the 3as alarm/immobiliser but it isnt there. Neither are the wires or connector for the alarm box.

I would really like to have the standard remote central locking. Did a K reg Mpi gti have remote central locking and is it in-fact a 3as immobiliser box fitted as standard on them?
Because I cant find the wires or connector for the original alarm is it likely they have been removed as part of a bypass or would they have to have been kept to keep the car working, especially the door key operated central locking?

Can someone tell me whether the alarm wiring is part of a separate loom or would it be part of the main loom behind the dashboard that feeds the radio and dashboard etc? Is it likely i can get the loom and 3as box from a donor car and get the remote central locking working?

I live in East sussex so if anyone local could help that would be amazing, (long shot i know ). I could take it to an alarm specialist as a last resort but I guess I will end up getting done over the bonnet. The car works fine as it is but it would be nice to get the car back to factory standard and have remote central locking and an alarm.
