Charcoal cannister

Post by Re-Carbed »

My 1993 1.1 carb model has a charcoal cannister (that's 23 years old) and my question is - do people leave these in or remove them? Mine was loose when I got the car so it looked as though someone had been fiddling. It's correctly connected now but how do I know it's working correctly?

Answered my own question. I removed the cannister and stopped up the inputs on the carb and the breather hose. I diverted the air line from the carb to the distributor only and removed the yellow/red lines from the carb to the air intake. Far from simplifying the system and making it better, the car was undriveable - it died when the throttle was depressed and kept stalling, so I put it all back. #IfItAnintBroke...
