Hello, the speedo needle on my 1993 1.1 carb model is rock solid - except between about 45 and 55 mph when it wobbles. I have removed and cleaned the core from the "upper" speedo cable which was a bit cruddy but the wobble remains - anyone else had this? Also I was told years ago that it is not advisable to lubricate speedo drive cores so I haven't - any comments welcome as original NOS speedo cables seem scarce and costly.

I dont know how to cure the wobble, you might have to live with that, but I have previously lubricated the speedo cable cores on my a-series with regular oil and let it run down the inside of the cable.
